The Education Centre for the Community (ECC) began in 2014 when founders Savuth and Savon opened a free school in Po Village, Siem Reap, Cambodia, driven by the belief that education can break the cycle of poverty. In 2023, ECC expanded to Phrai Phattana, Thailand—75 km from Sisaket—through a partnership with Mr. Paramet Sriboon, director of Luang Pu Suang Wat Phrai Phattana. Both schools provide tuition-free education to children in underserved areas, powered entirely by dedicated volunteers. Today, ECC is growing into a cross-border network committed to education, empowerment, and cultural exchange—with plans to expand even further.

The ECC initiative operates solely on the dedication of volunteers, receiving no financial support from the government or external sources. Under the guidance of a skilled team and committed volunteers, ECC provides educational programs to a wide range of students—from young children and high schoolers to monks and aspiring athletes—empowering each to build a brighter future through learning.

Executive Director and Cofounder

Savuth is the husband of Savon and is the executive director and co-founder along with his wife of the N.G.O Education Centre For Community which first opened it’s doors in 2014. A skilled engineer who can design and build whatever is needed.

Savon Pouk

Director of Communications & Cofounder

Savon is the wife of Savuth and the Director of communications but is mostly known for being the head of the home at ECC and is everyone’s MAMA! When she is not at the helm of the household you will find her at the meetings with other N.G.O’s.

Chief Of Administration

Channa is a perfect example of why gaining a good knowledge of other languages can help further development. The daughter of Savuth and Savon, Channa was a student at ECC and is now majoring in Business English at University in Sisaket, Thailand!

Nady Ros

Operations Manager

Nady is the greatest chef in Asia and is our go-to contact in ECC Thailand. She is the main point of coordination between the various teaching programs and the volunteers. Originally from Cambodia, Nady oversees ECC Thailand Operations!
